Seaside Refresh

Like many of us, this young family longed for more room to entertain family and friends. Their 3 story waterfront townhouse was not taking proper advantage of the location and it's view. By pushing out a wall in the living room, we were able to create a more comfortable living space, enhancing the view of the river in their backyard. With upgrades to the exterior shell, deck, and railing, this modern style home is not only gorgeous, but much safer for their small children.

The living room once had a small covered desk area where the bar seating and piano are. The deck area was too small for the growing family, they longed for a more useable and functional space they now have.

The landing once felt dark, tight, and closed off from the rest of the adjacent spaces. By opening the wall and adding railing to the stairs landing, the light flooded in making it feel much larger, and giving a cohesive look.

The clients wanted a way to bring the outdoors into the living area, the designer created an outdoor bar seating area and installed a bi-fold window to give the clients a great space for outdoor entertaining and relaxing.

The designer replaced the old rickety wooden railing that abstracted the view with a beautiful glass railing.

The original exterior of this home had worn out shingles, rickety railing, and was out dated. This bold hue of color coat stucco is now easier maintenance and the clients style.

The client had no easy access to the beautiful deck, two windows were replaced with French doors flanking the fireplace to gain access to the back deck. More recessed lighting was added to help brighten the room.

The desk was old and weathered. The desk is now heat treated and UV protected to avoid fading and splintering. It is also waterproof and slip resistant making the deck more useful.
